Carlow Gateway Business Centre in partnership with intermediaries, state agencies, colleges and private sector partners have for many years offered a variety of new and innovative training, up-skilling and lifelong learning programmes designed to improve the skills, capacity and employability of people living and working in County Carlow.

Training programmes are designed in direct response to the expressed needs of Carlow based voluntary, community and business groups. These programmes, which have been highly rated by former students, can in many cases be offered free of charge or at very competitive rates due to the support and funding secured by Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet, Solas and from a variety of other sources including the European Union – Momentum Programme, the Local Community Development Programme, Tús and Rural Social Schemes, the Department of Social Protection and the Department of the Environment.

Carlow Gateway Business Centre offers a range of training programmes that respond to the needs of Carlow’s small and micro-business sector and that support entrepreneurship and enterprise creation, development and enhancement in high value added and innovative sectors.

Carlow Gateway Business Centre is home to Carlow/Kilkenny Skillnet, Broadbandcareers Ltd, along with many Solas approved training programmes.

Carlow/Kilkenny Skillnet is funded by Skillets Ltd through the Department of Education and Skills and member company contributions.

“Skillnets” are approved training networks, consisting of groups of companies working together at the strategic level to establish industry standards, sectoral competencies and certification processes.

Skillnets Ltd is an industry-led body established to promote and support training in enterprises. Skillnets Ltd was established in 1999 to provide a structure within which the Training Networks Programme would operate.

Carlow/Kilkenny Skillnet offers abroad range of open training courses and networking events to address the varied training needs of our member companies who operate at all levels across industry sectors.

Broadbandcareers Ltd. are an independent privately owned “Social”, City & Guilds and QQI training course provider of fiber optic, digital aerial and satellite, smartv, installation. They are recognised and highly regarded by businesses as providers of meaningful accredited training.

Carlow Gateway is also an approved centre under SOLAS, QQI, City & Guilds (Approval number: 800602) and the Momentum Scheme.
